Best Restaurants in Salt Lake City From a Local’s Point of View

Salt Lake City Dining OptionsThere’s a lot of incredible eating in Salt Lake City and all over the Valley.  Check out a few of our favorites:

  • If you like local breweries and terrific food, check out Squatters downtown with their world class beer and amazing menu of delicious casual fare.  There are now locations at the airport and also in Park City.  The Red Rock Brewery is another local favorite.
  • If it is mountain dining you look for, Log Haven offers a wonderful Millcreek Canyon experience, about 20 minutes from downtown.
  • Want some Italian countryside dining with gorgeous atmosphere?  Enjoy Tuscany in Holladay for delicious cuisine.  You might even see Mark Eaton, former NBA star for the Utah Jazz.  He’s been a managing partner since it opened in 1996.
  • Have a special celebration and want to be pampered with more delicious food?  Christopher’s Seafood & Prime Steak House downtown will be the ticket.  The service is incredible and they have live piano music.  The pianist takes requests.
  • Want the best mountain breakfast experience or an evening relaxing in the mountain air?  Take a short drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Silver Fork Lodge and savor the fresh air of mountain altitude on the patio in summer with abundant mountain flowers and hummingbirds or inside by the fire in winter. Enjoy a glass of wine and a relaxing, casual dinner on the patio from burgers to fresh mountain trout in summer and fall.  Ruth’s Diner in Emigration Canyon is another favorite for breakfast or casual dinner, not far from downtown.  They also have outdoor seating.
  • And for a very, very special occasion and a memorable experience, probably no one should miss an opportunity for a unique dinner experience in a spectacular setting with gardens, a beautiful chateau and vineyards at the infamous La Caille on Wasatch Blvd. near the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon.
