Holladay Corporate Housing and Furnished Apartments

The Almost Home Experience... Your Perfect Choice

Getting to Know Holladay UT Corporate Housing

Holladay is situated within the Greater Salt Lake City area along the bench of the Wasatch Mountains on the east side of the valley.  Its neighboring community to the south is Cottonwood Heights and to the west is Murray.  Holladay corporate housing residents will find the location of this town ideal with beautiful mountain views and convenient access to downtown Salt Lake City via I-215.  Originally, a suburb of Salt Lake City, a referendum was passed in 1999 to incorporate as a city.

As for climate and weather, temperatures range between 70 and 100 in the summer and average 30 to 40 in winter months, although winters can dip into the teens or colder for a few days, usually in January. The city sits at the edge of the Wasatch Mountains with access to world class ski resorts in Big Cottonwood Canyon (Brighton and Solitude ski areas) and Little Cottonwood Canyon (Snowbird and Alta ski areas). Needless to say, the nearby mountains can pick up plenty of snow.  Often it is spring in the city and winter in the resorts just 20-30 minutes up the canyon due to the elevation gain.  Fill your Cottonwood Heights corporate apartment closet with a wardrobe prepared for a wide variety of weather conditions.  You’ll be glad you did.

Places to Eat near Your Holladay Furnished Apartment

Almost Home’s Holladay furnished apartment residents will have no lack of dining out options should they choose every now and then to venture out of their fully set up kitchens.

  • Tuscany Restaurant on E 6200 South: Relax in this gorgeous Tuscan atmosphere where one truly feels they have stepped into Tuscany, France.  Owned and managed by Mark Eaton, famous NBA Jazz basketball player who set a record for 456 blocked shots in a single season is often seen in the restaurant.  Mark is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and at 7’4” in height, you can’t miss him.   In summer, enjoy the outdoor patio dining and in winter the warmth of a cozy fireplace indoors. The Herb Crusted Beef Carpaccio is stupendous, while the Organic Spring Mix is inspiring. Try the House Chicken Piccata.
  • Porcupine Pub & GrilleIf its casual food and beer you like, you’ll enjoy this popular neighborhood spot. The beer on tap is nectar-like and it blends so well with the dinner menu. It’s hard to leave this place without trying some of the 24 drafts they serve, especially the Chasing-Ape.  The chicken soup is memorable.
  • Market Street Grill on Cottonwood Parkway:  Enjoy delicious fresh seafood daily.  Seating is available in the Oyster Bar for a more casual atmosphere, the dining area of Market Street Grill for a more elegant touch, or the patio in summer for breathing in mountain air and uplifting views.  Although known for delectable dinners, don’t overlook the breakfast menu including fresh Broiled Trout with Eggs Benedict or the Alaskan Snow Crab Benedict.  For lunch or dinner, the clam chowder is as good as you’ll find anywhere!
  • Silver Fork Lodge and Restaurant: This place has a ton of character, situated just before Solitude in Big Cottonwood Canyon, this old mountain log cabin style lodge has great food, the warmth of a deep fireplace crackling with dried aspen logs and a terrific dining deck for summer pleasure, equipped with patio heaters when the sun goes down over the mountain.

Things to do Surrounding Your Holladay Temporary Housing Residence:

  • The area provides lots of walking and hiking trails.  A little known trail is Ferguson’s Gulch, great for taking a large dog for a hike.  It is one of the few areas that are not watershed and so dogs are welcome.  There is a nice stream that flows down in spring and early summer.  You will find the trailhead just above the homes in the Prospector Drive neighborhood above the intersection of Wasatch Blvd. and Bengal Blvd.
  • Solitude Ski Resort – Solitude is the first ski resort up Big Cottonwood Canyon.  There are beautiful ski trails on 1200 acres of skiable terrain.  Restaurants and shops are at the Solitude Village.
  • Brighton Ski Resort – About 30 minutes from the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon, Brighton boasts over 500 inches of snow per year.  There are 5 quad chairs, 1 triple and 1 Magic Carpet which cover 66 ski runs. The views here are gorgeous looking into several canyons from the top ridge.  Known for the best night skiing, there are over 200 acres and three lifts from 4-9 PM Monday through Saturday during the season.  Brighton also has a cross country ski track.
  • Alta Ski Resort – With a top elevation of 10,550 ft. and a vertical drop of 2,020 feet, there are 2200 acres of skiing in over 116 runs.  40% of the runs are intermediate and 35% are advanced black diamond runs.  The resort provides lodging, restaurants, helicopter and backcountry tours.
  • Snowbird Ski Resort – Known for its world class ski runs in over 2500 acres and European style aerial tram boasting a top elevation of 11,000 at Hidden Peak to a vertical drop of 3240 feet, Snowbird is an adventure not to be missed for the avid skier. Snowbird is also filled with vast summer activities such as music festivals, bike mountain climbs, bungee and trampoline fun, Oktoberfest and hiking after a tram ride to the top of the mountain.  Our favorite restaurants here are The Aerie (yummy American gastropub cuisine), The Steak Pit (prime steaks and delicious seafood), El Chanate (Mexican fare), and The Atrium for breakfast with a gorgeous view of the slopes from its incredible wall of windows.
  • Hikes: Almost Home temporary housing residents can explore the many hiking trails in the Cottonwood Canyons.  Some of our favorites are Brighton Lakes trailhead (easier) or Lake Blanche (intermediate) in Big Cottonwood Canyon or Cecret Lake (easy) or Red Pine Lake (intermediate) in Little Cottonwood Canyon.  They are all watershed areas so you cannot bring pets.
