Temporary Housing Charlotte NC: Getting Around

To get a lay of the land, just know that I-77 cuts through the city from north to south while I-84 traverses east to west. You can just about circumnavigate the entire city using I-485, which goes around almost all the way. Downtown Charlotte is encircled by I-277. So if you are coming in from the north, you can avoid downtown Charlotte and get to the south side of the city using I-277.Road layouts within the city are pretty easy to figure out. Each city block is evenly spaced and alternates between northbound and southbound traffic.  The east and west streets are the same way, alternating between one block and the next. Trade Street divides the north part of town from the south, and Tryon St. divides the east from the west.

Places to Eat Near Your Charlotte Corporate Housing

Charlotte is a huge city covering about 300 square miles. The things you can do will most likely be what is close to your temporary housing. However, downtown Charlotte alone offers more than is needed to keep anyone happy.
  • Luce on North Tryon St between 5th and 6th: This restaurant is one of the finest upscale Italian restaurants in the country. From towering Roman columns to floors adorned with travertine tile, the atmosphere is enough to elevate any occasion, be it a client meeting, a wedding anniversary or even if you are planning to propose to your childhood sweetheart. The only thing that can match the grandeur of the aesthetics here, is the pleasure experienced by the palette. The chefs here create some of the finest tastes anywhere in, or outside Tuscany.
  • The Fig Tree Restaurant on East 7th St between Louise Ave and Hawthorne Ln: A cocktail of Italian and French influences within the menu served in a homely setting that deserves nothing less than six stars for its service, decor, and ambiance. The wine list won’t disappoint the typical connoisseur while the menu that is filled with Foie Gras appetizers and Octopus dishes and Lobster courses topped of with the likes of Pumpkin Cheesecake will excite the passions of the evening. Take your time with dinner when you’re here, and savor the tastes that you will only find in Charlotte.
  • Nakato Japanese Restaurant on Pineville-Matthews Rd: Some of the finest Teppanyaki and Sushi chefs prepare delectable Japanese delights according to centuries-old recipes and practices. If you like to watch chefs preparing sushi, then make sure you sit at the sushi bar to enjoy a really amazing display of skill and accuracy. While you’re here make sure you try the Hibachi Steak, and the Teriyaki Beef Julienne. You won’t regret it. This might also be a good place for you to bring clients for lunch or dinner.
  • Copper Restaurant on East Blvd between Cleveland and Euclid Ave: Modern Indian cuisine at its finest. The menu is meticulously crafted, the spices are expertly chosen and the ingredients are delicately hand-picked. All this within a decor that is as appetizing as it is contemporary. The thing that is unmistakable is the aroma of freshly prepared food as you walk in the front doors of this turn-of-the century bungalow. Try the Semolina Crusted Lake Trout. It’s to die for.
  • Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar on East Blvd at the corner of Lombardy Circle: This is a really laid back joint that’s clean and serves up really good burgers, salads and has a really friendly bar. If you are in the mood for some of the south’s finest milk shakes, then this is one place you want to head down to. But the star of this place is definitely the burgers. The beef blend here is nothing short of stupendous. The ingredients that top it off are fresh and the bun is awesome. One of the best places for a burger, anywhere in Charlotte.
There is a lot of food in this city, a significant number of them are really good. These five here will get you started when you first get to Charlotte. Wherever your Charlotte corporate housing is, the drive won’t be too long from one end to the other. Charlotte may occupy a large footprint, but the commute here is easy going.

What to Do After Stepping Out of Your Charlotte Furnished Apartment

There is seemingly no end to the things you can do in Charlotte. So even if you are living out of a suitcase in your Charlotte temporary housing, you will have plenty to do. Whether it is spectator sports or playing tennis or golfing or enjoying one of the South’s most spectacular roller coaster rides, be prepared to have some serious fun!
  • Carowinds on Carowinds Blvd: An amazing place to spend a sunny Sunday. This is a huge theme park with lots to do and there is no way you are going to be able to get everything done in a day here, so the good thing about that is that every time you come over, you will have something new to try out. Just for that, it might be worth it to get a season pass.
  • Blumenthal Performing Arts Center on N. Tyron St. between 5th and Trade: An eclectic mix of performances have graced this acoustically precise theater. It was designed by Cesar Pelli, the same designer credited for some of the world’s major buildings. Needless to say, your experience here watching the likes of Elton John or The Phantom of the Opera would be unsurpassed.
  • Ballantyne Country Club on Ballantyne Crossing Ave.: This is a private club that allows membership without the need for residency. So if you’re from other parts, this will work out just fine. Having a golf membership will work in your favor as you entertain clients and business associates as well as their families. There is a lot you can do here, from use it as a place to work out in the gym, or a place for you to spend a Charlotte afternoon walking the links.
  • Carolinas Aviation Museum on First Flight Drive: Considering that the first aircraft ever flown was done in this state, North Carolina’s aviation museum is a must for anyone with aviation in their blood or just plain old American pride. This museum as a number of exhibits including the the C 130 that flew in operation Eagle Claw.
  • Bechtler Museum of Modern Art on South Tryon St.: This Museum was designed by Mario Botta, the talented Swiss architect responsible for, among other notable buildings, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Watari Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo. Some of the works on display here are from the greats like Picasso, Warhol, and Giacometti. This is the private collection of the Bechtler family.
Charlotte is an incredibly complex city. The intertwining of its society and its advanced commercialization results in a melting pot of culture and commerce unlike any other city in the United States, and the world at large. These five things to do while in Charlotte merely scratch the proverbial surface but do not do it justice.
